Project Short Description:

The Qalat Substation consists of two 10 MVA power transformers, a double busbar system, and associated line bays designed to receive power from both the Ghazni and Kandahar transmission networks, thereby providing operational flexibility and enhanced reliability of the power supply. The substation is located in Qalat City, Zabul Province, one of the least developed regions of the country, where access to reliable electricity has historically been limited.
Upon completion, the project will represent a significant milestone for DABS in Zabul Province. It will provide a stable and reliable 24-hour electricity supply to residential, commercial, and public consumers, substantially improving the quality and continuity of electrical service. The enhanced power infrastructure will support local businesses, encourage economic growth and investment, improve public services, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the region, ultimately improving the living standards of the residents of Qalat and its surrounding areas.
